Definitely time to find some new homes for some of that stuff. Check out my Facebook group if you are interested...many items are gently used, some brand new, others..."what was I thinking...I need MORE paper??!"
I will have things at Rotary Market this weekend...Fri 10 am-5pm; Sat 10am-?2pm?
I also have two bins of assorted paper; K & CO, DCWV, CTMH, SUp!, Daisy Hill, much more...all 3 sheets for $1!!

Home again!
(1)
Dalton was able to invite a friend to CampGoodTime, the cancer camp for kids, Grand Lake
(2) Dalton and his old pal Austin White met up once again...Austin moved when they were toddlers, and have been able to reunite every summer at Caton's! (parents: pastor Mike and Nikki White, formerly Central Wesleyan)
(3) Didn't take Dalton long to make new friends at camp!
Finally made it back from two weeks of vacation...Dalton thoroughly enjoyed two weeks at camps, and I thoroughly enjoyed the two weeks of wandering, visiting lots of friends and hanging out at Joyce's. Reality hit as soon as we got back; Saturday was spent doing load after load of laundry, then dishes, then meals, and back to counting out pills. I tried going on strike Sunday night, but no one clued in that other people in this house are entirely capable of cooking a meal...the only reason I gave in was because someone had to have their supper pills before it was actually time for bedtime pills. grrrrr!
Today; time to start getting ready for Rotary Market!

Vacation Mode!
I can not express the crazy emotions felt over the past couple of weeks!
July 10: Market...One year since we were flown out to Saint John Regional.
July 11: Dalton went to Camp Goodtime...summer camp for cancer kids and their friends. As usual, I was in tears as I left him...summer camp always gets me, but this time it was worse.
July 12: One year since Leukemia Diagnosis. A very emotional day for me, glad to sit by the shore by myself. Dalton was so excitred to go to camp this year, and I am so thankful he is healthy enough to go.
July 13: spent some time with Kathy, mom of Dalton's IWK friend Sara. It was good to just talk about our journeys this past year.
Rest of the week: spent with great friends I haven't seen in ages. Very relaxing week...especially my hour and half trip to MICHAEL'S!!!!
Philip came up for the weekend, and we went to the Camp's closing ceremony...very nice; Dalton and Sara received medals for "graduating" from the camp Good time (under 12) to the Junior Leadership Camp (13-16). He had a great time! The rest of the day was spent doing lots of laundry and getting things aired out and packed for Caton's Island Camp!
On Sunday, we took him to Brown's Flats.
Today...
I REST!!
Did my usual trip into Frenchy's, and got my haircut. I finished my novel, A FEW MILLION PIECES, and worked on some scrapbook pages... lots of fond memories as I am doing Dalton's Surprise Birthday Party at DECH. What a great day, despite the fact Dalton couldn't have the birthday party we had planned, due to low counts. We have been so blessed with new friends.
This week's Challenge: Create a layout of your "Thoughtful Spot"...where you hide out to relax, and think about those many blessings! I would love to see what you come up with.
I'll post a picture a little later of mine...It reminds me of a card Yvonne made for me a while back...with a picture of my Aunt Joyce's shoreline...my thoughtful spot!

Sunday!
Enjoyed a very yummy breakfast at the Curling Rink this morning...eggs, sausage, fishcakes, beans, pancakes with strawberries and cream...yumm yummmmm!!! Definitely worth heading out to enjoy! I've increased my morning walk a bit more, so I felt like I could splurge on the whip cream!!
Last night I had the pleasure of attending an opening at the Grand Manan Art Gallery for a combined showing of one of my students. Thomas Stanley is a very talented young artist, and I am sure we will see much more from him in the future. He is heading off to the Center for Arts & Technology this fall, where I'm sure he'll do great. The show also featured photos from Allan MacDonald and Sarah Wormell. Both of these people have some awesome work. Allan had a most incredible 6 piece work of a whale that took up the whole wall. It was beautiful!
Grand Manan has some very talented people, many not even discovered yet! Nice chance to get out and support our locals. The show runs until the end of July. it was also a nice treat to win teh 50/50 draw! Great to have a little bit extra cash to go away with!
After, had a much welcomoed Princess Night with Selena! So nice to sit back and relax, enjoy chocolate, and watch Ever After! I can not remember the last time I watched a chick flick!
Tomorrow, we head back to Fredericton for Dalton's next chemo treatment. He is excited to go to a movie, too. It'll be so nice to head away without the pressure of running right after school, and then rushing back for school the next day. Time to relax!
Last day to enter the RAK challenge! Email me your card, or post it yourself! Draw takes place tonight!

Happy Friday!

Got up early this morning again for my morning walk, only to hear Squawky and Cranky at it again. You know how annoying it is to have to listen to that? I've only heard them at it once since we got back in March, but I remember hearing them last year at different times. It doesn't seem to matter who is around, they are ready to find something to complain about. Despite it being one of the most gorgeous days of the year, and despite living in such a great place, they see no need to hide their bickering from any of the neighbours. And they always seem to find something to complain about. Dalton would scowl when he heard them, too. One day we were down island, and we actually heard them down there. So they don't just save it for the "privacy" of their own home.
I often wonder at school, how many kids get subjected to parents like Squawky and Cranky. How many times do they arrive trying to put it out of their heads, and try and carry on with their day, only to have one of the two sneaking back into their thoughts. And how many reluctantly head home at the end of the day, dreading what they have to put up with in the evening.
So thankful that Dalton never has to go through that. I'm not saying we never have disagreemnets, but we are both pretty passive people, so yelling and screaming is not in our forte.
Maybe I won't hear Squawky or Cranky again this summer. That would certainly make my day more peaceful, and that of their offspring!!
