I love autumn; it's my very favorite season, I think. I love the crisp air, and the cool sky, and the beautiful paintbrush God used across the foliage. I love the new school year; the hope and excitement for new starts. Much better than New Year's, the equivalent of a teacher's New Year, I suppose. And my birthday! love being able to celebrate with friends, and of course, the excuse for CHOCOLATE CAKE!! Thanksgiving dinner has to be my all time favorite meal...of course, along with Christmas! I just love a real good Turkey dinner, with all the trimmings.and I love Halloween. But the one thing I HATE ABOUT FALL...when it turns from fall, but not quite winter yet...you know, when we get more rainstorms, and the leaves are all knocked around, and everything is brown. Just plain brown. ewww!
This weekend is one of those weekends...cold and wet and blustery. Getting the Halloween decorations up today...I always wait until after Thanksgiving.I keep getting into teh Halloween treats, so I bagged up the treatbags for my class and spooks last night. We only get about 6-7 spooks, but I always make up enough for a dozen in case "this is the year"! When we lived in Woodward's Cove, we would get 25-30. Much different when you live on the main drag.
So today may be a stay-in-your-jammies-by-the-woodfire kinda day.
Oh, except we have to go out this afternoon for teh RELAY for LIFE 2011 meeting.
But at least we can stay in our jammies until noon!!
